To me feminism is all about the empowerment, protection and equality of all women. I strongly believe women as a collective should all have each other’s backs and understand each women’s unique struggles so we can unite and bring that attention to the rest of society. Women of color face several hardships that I think every feminist should acknowledge and be educated on and understand that there should not be a division on feminists. I believe anyone can be a feminist and that being a feminist does not mean women claim as “the superior gender”, but that we want a sense of unity instead of division. To me a priority is that women should have full rights to their body and should have the choice to do whatever they want with them including reproductive rights. There should be more accommodation to women’s menstrual cycles as that is a big emotional drainer to most women every month and we need to focus on mental health as much as physical. Can’t believe I even have to say it but equal pay! Women need equal pay! Women overall need to be heard and listened to for progression to continue.
